UAW Strike , Expands to Another Plant.br The United Auto Workers (UAW) union br has taken its strike to a plant that produces br Ram 1500 trucks, NBC News reports.br 6,800 more employees have stopped working.br Ram 1500 trucks are one of br Stellantis' most profitable vehicles. .br The strike's expansion comes after UAW President Shawn Fain accused Stellantis of "trying to lowball and undercut us" with weaker negotiations than what was put forth by Ford and GM.br In total, approximately 40,000 UAW employees are currently on strike.br They are striking for better pay, shorter work weeks, better pension and health care programs, cost-of-living-adjustments and more.br The walkout began on Sept. 15.br Last week, Ford Executive Chair Bill Ford br called the strike a threat to not only his company, but to the American auto industry.br This should not be Ford versus the br UAW. It should be Ford and the UAW br versus Toyota and Honda, Tesla and br all the Chinese companies that want br to enter our home market, Bill Ford, Ford Executive Chair, via statement.br Fain responded by saying, "It's not the UAW and Ford against foreign automakers. It’s autoworkers everywhere against corporate greed.
