Federal government rushes to pass new laws to re-detain offenders

Offenders released from immigration detention could be locked-up again under new preventative detention laws. The release of the High Court's reasoning now gives the government the framework to create new legislation outside the immigration system. Home Affairs Minister Clare O’Neil says her department is moving quickly to put new laws in place.
