He is the son of Karen Kempner (born in 1958), a psychiatrist, and Edward Zuckerberg (born in 1954), a dentist.br br On his maternal side, Karen Kempner is the daughter of Sidney Kempner (1921-2012), the son of Harry Kempner (1892-1936) and Mary Steinberg (circa 1898-1965), and Gertrude Silver (born in 1924).br br On his paternal side, Edward Zuckerberg is the son of Jacob Zuckerberg (1919-2004), the son of Max Zuckerberg (1899-1948) and Minnie Wiesenthal (1899-1986), and Miriam Hollander (1920-2004), the daughter of Max Hollander (1873-1965) and Rose Schoenfeld (1880-1957), both originally from Austria.
