A resident at Block 70 of the Sri Sabah flats in Cheras had attempted to put out the fire which started at one of the units on the 17th floor.br br However, he said the fire hydrant system located at that floor was not operational which resulted in the fire spreading quickly to four other units Sunday (Feb 11) night.
