Indigenous tattoo artist awarded presidential medal of meritbr br President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2024 in Malacanang, awards the Presidential Medal of Merit to 106-year-old Maria Whang-Od Oggay for her contribution in preserving the art of traditional tattooing or 'batok' and for raising awareness on the heritage, culture and tradition of the indigenous peoples in the country.
