Chinese President Xi Jinping's Message to US CEOs: China-U.S. Relations Can Improve, but No Return to the Past

Chinese President Xi Jinping met with top US CEOs, including from Blackstone, Qualcomm, and FedEx, on Thursday. Xi told the executives that US-China relations can improve and have a "brighter future", but also that the relationship cannot return to how it was. Xi pledged China will continue improving its business environment and opening its economy further. The CEOs urged China to enhance cross-border data flows, government procurement, intellectual property rights protection, and regulatory transparency and predictability.
