Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari died of cardiac arrest at the Banda Medical College in Uttar Pradesh on March 28 evening. Earlier in the day, Ansari was taken to the hospital after his health deteriorated, reported PTI. Banda Medical College principal Suneel Kaushal confirmed to PTI that Mukhtar Ansari died of a cardiac arrest at the facility. Ansari was hospitalised after he complained of abdominal pain. Umar Ansari, the son of the gangster-turned-politician, alleged that his father was subjected to slow poisoning in jail. As reported by PTI, the charge has been denied by authorities.
