The Supreme Court on Friday, April 26, dismissed a batch of petitions seeking 100 cross-verification of the votes cast in Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) with Voter-Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) slips. Rejecting the pleas, the apex court passed two directions to further strengthen the safety of EVMs.
