The Energy Minister says the multinational energy giant Shell "has not requested any extension of the OFAC "licence related to the Dragon" gas deal.
In response to a question in Parliament from the Opposition Chief Whip today, the Energy Minister said that it was the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, not Shell, that applied for the licence.
The Minister also sought to assure the populaiton that he is having direct discussions with high level U.S. officials regarding an extension of that licence to the Government.
