The Pagsubay han Aton Kabilin: A Leyte-Samar History and Heritage Forum Leyte-Samar

History, tradition and culture are the Leyte-Samar Heritage Society Committee Head Lakan Uhay Dorado Alegre notes that the goal of the event is to highlight the rich history and tradition of Eastern Visayas and fill a crucial void in the present Philippine historical narrative.

UP student Jeffereson Tambuson stated that the event is significant because it allows people to trace and reflect on Eastern Visayas culture while also expressing appreciation for it.

Eastern Visayas State University President Dennis de Paz pointed out that historical appreciation is still crucial as technology and social media shape the youth's mindset.

Leyte Historian Emil Justimbaste urged that the Department of Education incorporate Philippine history into the curriculum so that the next generation values local history in particular.

UP Professor Reynaldo Imperial talked about how guerilla warfare developed in Eastern Visayas during the American occupation.
