Hands free recording with Studio One 6 & TouchOSC.

This video illustrates how TouchOSC can be assigned to automate commands , functions & utilities in Studio One or any daw etc for hands free recording.br .br Midi notes are strategically inserted within the timeline to automatically activate & deactivate recording. So users can have the freedom to punch in or refine a live loop workflow.br .br *Other workflows* br br br The *cue track* which contains the midi event can be assigned to any utility , task , daw , external hardware eg. Trigger a midi noise gate , switch mixer scenes. Skip between sections of the song ,insert a plug in effect, change presets etc. It's possible to create a workflow where the software can randomly play, record and mix itself with midi note , velocity ,midi cc or open sound control.br .br *SOURCE*br br The TouchOSC template is easy to create but can be found in a January 30th post in the examples & tutorials menu on TouchOSC Discord .br .br *thelemen2* is my Discord username & the template is named *electro3* br br *Studio One 6 & midi assignments*br br Ive assigned the transport record command to two buttons. But i've changed the argument value of one of the buttons.br .br Button one is assigned to record.br Button two is a macro which has an argument & the state value has been changed to zero. br br *TouchOSC* br br Is being used as a midi processor & router & the template was created with local messages. The widgets can be duplicated and re-assigned for any other daw , utility or software by changing the velocity or midi note or midi cc values.br .br *Video contents*br br Recorded in Bandicam with asio & an Arturia Minifuse 4 via loop back channel.br Noisy bass guitar inserted in a Numark M4 dj mixer.br Text to speech for the vocal narration....so there.br TouchOSC demo on Windows 11 desktop.br Edited in Camtasia. br br *Cubase* br br I intended to create a video guide with Cubase Elements 12 but I had issues with OBS & Voicemeter when screen capturing. It's possible to perform the task without TouchOSC & use midi remote & quick controls but it's too convoluted. br br *Touchscreen*br br Touchscreen software is not just for touchscreens. They are ideal as tools for midi routing or processing as the majority of midi tools were swept away or lost in the transition to Vst3 and 64 bit.br br The midi processing needs to occur at the input stage which require installing a virtual midi cable on desktop.Or a network midi port when working via an ad hoc wireless network.br br Here's a guide to touch screen midi software.br br Thanks for viewing.
