Germany’s ‘Dilemma’: Israeli Arms Sales vs Humanitarian Aid?

Since August, Germany has approved €94.05 million in arms exports to Israel, more than double the €45.74 million approved for the entire year up to mid-October.br br These exports come amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with reports of Israeli attacks on U.N. peacekeepers in southern Lebanon. br At the same time, Germany has pledged €96 million in aid to Lebanon—€60 million in development aid and €36 million in humanitarian aid—to support a country facing economic collapse and the fallout from regional conflict. br Despite the growing humanitarian crisis, Germany has reaffirmed its commitment to providing military aid to Israel, alongside its obligation to international humanitarian law.
