American Airlines has finalized an exclusive co-branded credit card agreement with Citigroup, phasing out its partnership with Barclays. Payments from these partnerships are expected to grow 10 annually. In the 12 months through September 30th, American Airlines earned over $5 billion from these deals. Barclays cardholders will transition to Citi starting in 2026, with Citi assuming sign-up promotions at airports and on flights. American shares rose over 6 in premarket trading following the announcement and an improved Q4 revenue forecast.
