At least 104 journalists have lost their lives this year as victims of violent crime, according to a provisional tally by the International Federation of Journalists, which places more than half of these deaths, 55 to be precise, in the Gaza Strip, the scene of an intense military offensive by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
