Storm splits Russian oil tanker

Russian oil tanker, Volgoneft 212, split apart in the Kerch Strait during a severe storm on Sunday, spilling thousands of tonnes of fuel oil, according to Russian officials. The vessel, carrying 15 crew members, partially sank, leaving one person dead. A second tanker, Volgoneft 239, sustained damage and was reported adrift. Investigations into potential safety violations are under way.
