Atty. Mario E. Maderazo, along with petitioners Ramon Magsaysay Awardee Roberto Ballon and fishermen Jessie delos Reyes, Ka Tino Dacillo, and Erlinda Ferrer, filed a petition to intervene before the Supreme Court in Manila on Friday, January 10.br br Supported by 300 fishers, KKAMPi, and NGOs for Fisheries Reform, Inc., they criticized the Supreme Court’s First Division for affirming the RTC Branch 170 ruling that declared municipal waters unconstitutional due to SGBFAR’s late appeal filed on January 4, 2024, instead of the December 11, 2023 deadline.
