This is a visual representation of my Artist statement created for class. br With me as producer, director and editor of this project. br br br Painting in the sky br by: Tyree Brand-Bey br br Minute by minute, day by day, drifting by trying to find that something. No guidance to the destination, no knowledge of what’s at the end or even why we are trying to get there. All we know is that there are tools everywhere in many forms, but the problem is that there is no canvas to use said tools on or more like we don’t know how to go about painting on the canvas before me. No matter how many years I still stare at the blank canvas I can’t find the right painting. br br br br The tools I carry are nothing but extensions of me, some picked up along the way to better my art style. Calm aura, reliable, hard worker, explorer, quick learner, good hearted, observer, and role model are some tools carried. Over-thinking, selfishness, arrogance, impatience, anxiety, and fear are also tools we carry as well. I guess when it comes to painting on the air, there is no guidance or roadmap on why I’m here and what purpose or who I even am supposed to be. But that’s the beauty of it discovering myself as an artist and the world as my canvas to paint my life and become me.
