Accusations that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has committed treason against the King and the royal institution are baseless, says the Backbenchers Club (BBC).br br This comes after Opposition leader Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin claimed on Tuesday (Feb 4) that the government’s alleged attempt to conceal the addendum order on house arrest for Datuk Seri Najib Razak amounted to “an act of treason” against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong.br br At a press conference on Wednesday (Feb 5), BBC chairman Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah described the accusations as a political ploy to mislead the public for the Opposition’s own gain.
