U.S. President Donald Trump has signed an order giving back a tariff exemption to small packages coming into the country from China worth under US$800. Such shipments from e-commerce companies like Shein and Temu had been tax-free until Trump imposed a 10 blanket tariff on all Chinese goods, but a backlog of packages arriving in the U.S. has forced the president to put a pause on the policy until the government can figure out how to process the shipments and collect the new tax.
