Cuban Santeria followers pray for Pope Francis's recoverybr br Cuban Santeria priestesses held a spiritual mass for the health of Pope Francis on Saturday, March 1, in Havana, uniting Afro-Cuban chants and Catholic prayers to pray for his recovery.br br The ceremony took place at the headquarters of the Yoruba Cultural Association of Cuba, in the heart of Havana, where a dozen of 'Santerias' placed the name of the pontiff written on a sheet of paper on their altar to make him the center of their prayers.br br Millions of Cubans practice Santeria, a religion that fuses Yoruba beliefs and traditions, brought to Cuba by African enslaved people, with elements of Catholicism.
