Trump hails 'the biggest' World Cup in Oval Office meeting with FIFA's Infantinobr br US President Donald Trump welcomed FIFA President Gianni Infantino to the White House on Friday, March 7, and signed an executive order to establish a "White House World Cup Taskforce."br br Trump claimed credit for securing the World Cup's to be co-hosted by the US during his first term. "It's the first time it's ever been in this part of the world, and it's an honor," the Republican added.br br The 48-team World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will run from June 11 to July 19, 2026. The tournament will feature 104 matches instead of the previous 64 games, including an additional knockout round.
