In a late-night altercation near a private hotel in Chitradurga, Karnataka, BJP Madhugiri District President Hanumantegowda was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting PSI Gadhilingappa. br br The incident occurred on Turuvanuru Road when PSI Gadhilingappa questioned Hanumantegowda and his group about their presence on the road late at night. This reportedly led to a confrontation, during which Hanumantegowda allegedly attacked the officer, causing injuries to his hand and fingers. The injured PSI was later admitted to the district hospital for treatment. br br Following the incident, Hanumantegowda was taken into custody. However, he countered the allegations, claiming that he was the one assaulted by the police. br br Rangaswamy, the driver of Hanumantegowda’s car and an eyewitness, told the media that the police used harsh words against Hanumantegowda, which led to a heated argument and eventually turned physical. br br The case has been registered at the Chitradurga City Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
