Govt paves way for Telcos to install fibre optics along railway corridors

The government now allows licensed telecommunications companies to provide fibre optic network services along railway corridors nationwide, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced.br br Speaking at a press conference following the Railway Assets Corporation’s (RAC) 2025 appreciation ceremony and open day on Friday (April 18), Loke said so far, YTL Communications Sdn Bhd has been selected through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to optimise the use of national rail assets for the development of high-speed fibre optic networks.
