Tarn Taran (Punjab), May 16, 2025 (ANI): On the biggest drug seizure of 85 Kg Heroin by Punjab Police in 2025, SSP Abhimanyu Rana said, “We had got information that one Amarjot aka Jota of Bhittewad, Amritsar Rural had a consignment and he was looking to deliver it. Police laid a trap, arrested the accused and recovered 5 kg heroin. On questioning, he revealed that he was going to pick up another consignment. At the location he mentioned, 40 kg heroin was recovered. On further investigation, 40 kg more heroin was found hidden inside a washing machine at his home. The total recovery in the case is 85 kgs. His connection has been established with a UK-based drug handler, Lalli. Investigation revealed that a Pakistani smuggler named Shah was sending this drug into India.
