Story Of Dawood (AS) & the Giant

The Story of Dawood (AS) and the Giant Jaloot (Goliath)br br A Story of Faith, Courage, and Divine Powerbr br Long ago, in the ancient lands of Palestine, a fierce and terrifying warrior named Jaloot (Goliath) led a mighty army. He was enormous in size, feared across the region, and known for his brutal strength. The children of Israel — the Bani Isra’il — had lost their courage. Their lands had been invaded. Their hearts were filled with fear. They needed a savior, a leader who could help them regain their lost glory and guide them back to faith in Allah.br br A Nation in Fearbr br After Prophet Musa (AS) had passed away, the people of Bani Isra’il had grown weak in their faith. They forgot the miracles they had witnessed — the parting of the sea, the manna from heaven, the protection of Allah. Without strong leadership and spiritual guidance, they were divided and defeated.br br When Jaloot’s army began conquering cities, the Bani Isra’il turned to a prophet among them and begged:br br "Appoint for us a king so we may fight in the cause of Allah."br (Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:246)br br The prophet warned them: “What if you refuse to fight when battle is ordered?”br They cried, “How can we not fight when we’ve been driven from our homes and children?”br br So Allah appointed a king named Taloot (Saul) to lead them. Though he was not wealthy or well-known, Allah had chosen him for his knowledge and strength. Some of the people doubted him, but the faithful among them obeyed.br br Taloot Tests His Armybr br Taloot gathered a large army and began the journey toward battle. But Allah wanted to test who was truly loyal. Taloot led his army to a river and told them:br br “Do not drink from this river. Whoever drinks is not from me, except for the one who takes only a handful.”br (Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:249)br br Most of the soldiers failed. They drank to their fill and were left behind. Only a small group of true believers — just a few hundred — remained with Taloot. Among them was a young shepherd boy named Dawood (David, AS).br br The Challenge of the Giantbr br When Taloot and his small army finally came face to face with Jaloot, they were terrified. Jaloot stood tall and fierce in full armor, holding a sword the size of a man. He challenged anyone to fight him — but no one dared.br br The men around Taloot trembled. They said:br “We have no power today against Jaloot and his army.”br But the believers — the few with strong hearts — replied:br “How many times has a small group defeated a large group by Allah’s will!”br (Qur’an, Surah Al-Baqarah 2:249)br br It was then that Dawood, the young shepherd boy, stepped forward. He was neither a soldier nor a warrior. He was humble, kind, and full of faith. But he believed in Allah’s power and had complete trust in Him.br br Taloot was surprised. He said, “You are only a boy. Jaloot is a giant and a trained fighter.”br br But Dawood replied with courage:br “I have killed lions and bears who attacked my sheep. With Allah’s help, I will defeat this tyrant.
