Retail Stocks With Vietnam Ties Surge After Trump Lowers Tariffs To 20%

Retail stocks with significant exposure to Vietnamese manufacturing climbed on Wednesday, according to Barron's. The gains followed Trump’s announcement of a new trade deal, which lowers tariffs on goods from Vietnam to 20, down from the 46 proposed in April. Apparel and furniture sellers with manufacturing in Vietnam, such as On Holding, Nike, Wayfair, Williams-Sonoma, and The Lovesac Co., were among the top gainers. Trump’s tariffs on Vietnamese goods were initially among the highest announced in April, but markets anticipated a reduction through ongoing negotiations. The new 20 rate matched analyst expectations, helping drive Wednesday’s rally.
