In February 2022, after settling into their new home in Texas, Salym visited her family doctor. Her bloodwork came back normal, and he offered a reassuring, “You’ll be fine. It might just be a vitamin issue.” But Salym knew in her gut that this was something more. Her body was sending her a louder, more urgent message. Eventually, the doctor referred her to a neurologist.
