President Hichilema Urges UPND MPs to Engage Constituents During Recess : Zambia News

Ahead of tomorrow's parliamentary adjournment, Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema held a meeting with members of Parliament at State House. The Head of State urged parliamentarians to utilize the upcoming recess period to effectively communicate government programs and policies to their electorates. Chief Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa briefed ZANIS shortly after the closed-door meeting, stating that the President's message was specifically for UPND Members of Parliament to provide direction and guidance on how they should spend their recess. He emphasized that the MPs should interact with their constituents, explain government policies and programs, and gather feedback and challenges faced by the people in their various constituencies. This engagement is aimed at ensuring that when Parliament resumes in September, MPs are well-informed and can speak from an informed point of view.
