The Chairman of the Purwokerto Association of Indonesian Advocates (Peradi SAI), Djoko Susanto, stated that lawyers typically handle criminal and civil cases, but planting trees is a rare activity. br "Today we want to demonstrate that the legal profession also has a social responsibility. We are donating these 1,000 trees to the Karangreja community as a small but significant step towards improving water resources here," he said. br br Karangreja, a Supporter of Life br br Karangreja Village is located in Kutasari District, Purbalingga, at the foot of the mountains that serve as the headwaters of several important rivers. This area serves as a water buffer for densely populated downstream areas. br br Eddy Wahono from the Serayu Bogowonto Natural Resources Conservation Agency (TKSDA) emphasized that if vegetation in Karangreja is damaged, the impact will be felt far downstream. br br "Greening in Karangreja is not just about aesthetics. It concerns the sustainability of water supplies for the wider area. Protecting the trees here is the same as protecting life," he said. br br According to Eddy, the biggest challenge is land-use changes that threaten catchment areas.
