Emma Raducanu Shares an Awkward Exchange with Jack Draper after Nick Kyrgios' 'Love Triangle'

British tennis star Emma Raducanu shared an awkward moment with rumoured love interest Jack Draper at the net following their clash at the US Open on Tuesday, as her short-lived journey with Carlos Alcaraz came to an end. br br Raducanu's surprise partnership with Alcaraz had been the talk of tennis circles after they announced they would play together at the new-look US Open competition in New York, with a shortened 'fast-four' format introduced with a $1m prize pot. br br The duo also sparked romance rumours after they praised each other warmly in the build-up to the event - with Raducanu glowingly effusing about her 'great connection' with Alcaraz. br br In the end, however, their time on court was brief, with number-one seeds Draper and his partner, former doubles world number 11 Jessica Pegula, sweeping victory in two clean sets. br br But with the match over, Raducanu appeared to show that she was unwilling to suspend competition with her compatriot too quickly. br br Heading over to the net, Draper seemed to be ready to hug Raducanu, only for the 22-year-old to opt for a more curt handshake. br br Raducanu then moved to hug Pegula, whom she last met in a challenging three-set test at the Miami Open this year, while Alcaraz swept up Draper in a similarly friendly embrace. br br The awkward exchange follows a mischievous remark from Australian maverick Nick Kyrgios this summer, who claimed that Draper and Alcaraz were 'fighting' over Raducanu.br br 'I don't know, I think it's a love triangle,' Kyrgios said on talkSport. 'Draper, Alcaraz, Raducanu. They're fighting over Raducanu, I think.br br 'The tennis world loves a love story; they love to try and put two together.'br br Draper had previously joked that he had missed out on partnering with his fellow British No. 1 when asked about their blockbuster pairing in June. br br 'A wise person once told me you should find the best partner, and that's what she did in Alcaraz,' Draper said when asked if it had been an option to play with Raducanu before the entry pairings were confirmed. 'I don't blame her at all for that.br br 'I think she will have a lot of fun playing with Carlos,' he added. 'He's the best player in the world, probably right now, along with (Jannik) Sinner. br br 'Great at doubles, as well. Saw that with Rafa (Nadal) at the Olympics. She's gone about and chose the best partner, for sure.' br br When asked in June about her reasons for picking Alcaraz, Raducanu raved about the 'great connection' they had behind the scenes. br br 'He's so nice, very happy, amazing values, and just a positive light to be around,' said Raducanu.br br 'I've known him for years. Wimbledon 2021 was the first time I started getting to know him. He was always playing the day before me. I would see him win, and then I would have motivation to win and get myself into that position too.br br 'It was cool to go through that tournament together, and then I kept going through the US Open, we were staying in touch for the whole time, and, yeah, it's nice.
