DEER FIGHTING FOR DOMINANCEbr WITH VIDbr By Saloni Mathurbr Check out this thrilling video of two axis deer aggressively fighting each other for dominance. br Trikansh Sharma, a photography coach and wildlife tourism expert, visited the Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttarakhand, India, on a photo safari when he spotted these two brawlers. br The axis deer or the chital is one of the several species of adult deer which retain their white spots into adulthood. br These deer fight with each other primarily as a way to establish dominance and secure mating opportunities with females. br Trikansh Sharma, from Uttarakhand, India, said: “These fights are so fast yet aggressive that I was stunned when I came across them. br “Fights like these also help establish a social hierarchy among the males and provide a chance to impress the females. br “These are intense fights, but they are rarely fatal. More often than not, it ends with one contestant retreating or leaving the area.
