The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Tianjin, China grabbed the world’s attention this weekend. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the leaders meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin, in northern China, for the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. Much of the commentary was centered on the presence of India’s Prime Minister Modi, who visited China for the first time in seven years.
