The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has confirmed its acceptance of the first phase of the peace plan for Palestine proposed by the U.S. government. The agreement includes the release of all Israeli detainees and the withdrawal of Israeli troops to a mutually agreed line, enabling the entry of humanitarian aid for the Palestinian population—victims of two years of genocidal escalation. The ceasefire is scheduled to begin at midday on Thursday, with the agreement to be signed the same day. The first group of prisoners is expected to be released on Saturday or Sunday. Hamas has also called on all parties involved to provide guarantees for the full implementation of the agreement.
