FLYING OVER NYC PILOTS' EYE VIEW WITH PIX AND VID BY Mikey Jones Check out these awesome photos and videos showing a pilot's eye view over NYC! 747 captain Christiaan van Heijst, 42, caught the moment as the plane flew over New York City, USA at 33,000 feet. Christiaan said: “This was taken during a flight from Atlanta to Liege, Belgium. “The route took us through the cities of Philadelphia and New York. We were cruising at 33,000 ft. “This video shows the beautiful views over New York City, seen from the perspective of the cockpit of a Boeing 747-400. “We see the different neighborhoods of New York, the individual skyscrapers, Times Square, and Central Park. “The very first time I flew into NYC at night was as a toddler when I was four years old. “I still remember how I was glued to the window and gazed down on the sea of lights. “The lower we flew, the more details became visible. At one point, I could distinguish individual lights, and minutes later, even the traffic lights. “That magic has always stayed with me. “I have been flying to NYC as a pilot since 2011, and it can be quite a challenge when the weather is poor with a lot of traffic. “Never a dull moment.
