br br During the tactical exercise Finval-2023, conducted by Russia’s Pacific Fleet, MiG-31 fighter jets on standby were scrambled from the Anadyr airfield, in the Chukotka Peninsula, to intercept a simulated cruise missile over the Chukotka and Bering Seas.br The crews successfully accomplished the air defence mission, destroying the aerial targets with air-to-air missiles.br The training involved around 10,000 servicemen and more than 50 combat units, including submarines, ships, helicopters, and coastal missile systems Bal and Bastion.br The aim of Finval-2023 is to strengthen the protection of the Northern Sea Route and Russia’s defensive readiness in the Arctic.
