Bankrupt AFC Urgent Care Bills Patients For "Free" Virus Test 4 Years Later!

SAN FRANCISCO TV station ABC Channel 7 KGO reported February 20th, 2025 that local residents have complained they're getting billed HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS $$$ from a Newark AFC Urgent Care (American Family Care) that administered free virus tests (one review on the BBB website mentions a $2700 USD bill). The company told the TV station they're billing patients because the insurance companies didn't fully reimburse the urgent care. Now, the Alameda County District Attorney's office has stepped in.br br The owner of AFC Urgent Care in Newark says the company filed for bankruptcy after more than $30 million in unpaid claims were denied. More than four years after the virus tests were given, the company started billing patients and threatening to take them to small claims court if they didn't pay.br br Patients customers report: "We didn't see anyone who appeared to be a physician or ask us any questions about our health or symptoms," said Schiefer.br br AFC Urgent Care's Better Business Bureau profile now reflects an F rating for the company, showing 50 new complaints lodged in just the last year. br br I previously mentioned an Indeed review of AFC where an employee claimed of their clinic: "it’s not unheard of to see over 100 patients in a 12 hour shift"br br I was a patient of AFC in 2019 and recently discovered a medical clinic office manager I had spoken with in May, 2022 at AFC (American Family Care) Urgent Care Cahaba Village (3000 Cahaba Village Pl STE 110, Birmingham, AL 35243), using the nickname "Sadler" is actually State Of Alabama licensed medical doctor, Christopher Blake Thomas MD. In my recorded calls in this video you will hear he refused to give me his first and last name when asked. br br I cite a television interview () with WVTM NBC 13 & play my telephone recordings back to back, the voices are identical.br br I called this clinic trying to speak with Dr. Blake Thomas MD, whose name appears on medical records from a misdiagnosed X-Ray I had in 2019 but was only allowed to speak to this "office manager". I was told no injuries appeared there but almost died a few months later when 6 inches diameter of infection set into my jaw and head (visible in subsequent MRI). I obtained my records from this visit & a several inch diameter anomaly is visible in the same area where broken skull bone and infection appears in other images. AFC would not help me get this error corrected, I paid $175 for the visit.br br I find these practices to be unprofessional in a business sense and medically unethical. br br I found AFC American Family Care Urgent Care staff uses Pseudonyms nicknames single names in their clinics. "Sadler" "Saddler" who claimed to be the office manager of Cahaba Village clinic refused to give me his first and last name (red flag scam alert).
