From Pupil to President: Leading the Way at Grambling

Grambling State University has entered a new era of focusing on institutional wealth and sustainability, as alum-turned-president Dr. Martin Lemelle, Jr. is one of the youngest presidents in the school's history and among the youngest among all HBCU presidents. He brings his accounting and business degrees coupled with finance and operations expertise from companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, IBM, and General Electric to the Louisiana university. President Lemelle discusses revenue innovation, corporate partnerships, and how state and federal funding shifts impact his HBCU. Grambling alumna and Black Enterprise Social Media Editor Tierra Smith joins the conversation to talk with President Lemelle about alumni engagement, the evolution of media, and careers of the future.
