The original pressing was released in December 1979 on the Blue Wave label. The band was founded in 1978 by brothers Tom and Jack Lavin and keyboardist Willie MacCalder. After a year and a half of performing in local clubs, the musicians self-financed the release of their debut album, Uncut, and in 1980, they toured Canada and the United States.
