Ford CEO Jim Farley warned the U.S. faces a critical shortage of skilled technicians, with more than a million essential jobs unfilled nationwide. He said Ford alone has 5,000 open technician roles paying roughly $120,000 a year and called the shortage a national self-defense issue.
