BELUGA WHALES KNOCK DOWN AN UNDEWATER MIRRORbr WITH VIDbr BY SALONI MATHURbr Rare footage shows a pod of curious beluga whales playing with an underwater mirror and knocking it down.br The video was recorded by Mikhail Korostelev, founder of a wildlife travel agency from Russia. br He, with his team, wanted to conduct a small experiment to see how the Beluga whales react to a mirror placed underwater. br He set up cameras around the mirror and recorded their interaction with the foreign object. br A pod of curious beluga whales can be seen approaching the mirror and knocking it down while trying to figure it out.br Mikhail said: “Beluga whales are known to be very curious and social animals. br “Their curiosity is linked to their high intelligence and complex social structures. br “They are also very playful, as can be seen when they try to interact with the mirror but accidentally knock it down.
