AEW Full Gear is Saturday, and I'm giving you my honest look ahead at the PPV. This isn't a full preview (that's coming) - just my initial thoughts on the card, the build, and why this show feels like it's missing something despite being solid on paper.br Let's talk about Full Gear and where AEW is right now.br br 🤼 MY HONEST FULL GEAR LOOK AHEAD:br THE OVERALL FEELING:br There's been A LOT going on in AEW lately - Blood and Guts just happened last week, storylines are moving fast, and somehow Full Gear has felt like a bit of an afterthought.br This is a pretty solid show on paper. The matches should deliver (they always do in AEW). But there's nothing here that screams "OMG I CAN'T MISS THIS."br That's the problem.br br THE AEW NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP - I HATE IT:br We're getting ANOTHER new title at Full Gear - the AEW National Championship will be decided in a Casino Gauntlet match.br My take: AEW does NOT need another championship right now.br They already have:br br AEW World Championshipbr AEW Women's World Championshipbr AEW Tag Team Championshipbr AEW Women's Tag Team Championship (tournament happening)br TNT Championshipbr TBS Championshipbr AEW Trios Championshipbr br That's SEVEN titles. Now we're adding an EIGHTH?br Championship belts lose meaning when there are too many. This feels unnecessary and dilutes what should be special. I'm not a fan of this decision at all.br br THE TIGHT TURNAROUND:br Blood and Guts was LAST WEEK. That was a massive show with two cage matches and major storyline developments.br Now we're running a PPV one week later?br That's a tight turnaround. It doesn't give storylines time to breathe or build proper anticipation for Full Gear. Everything feels rushed.br br AS ALWAYS, IT WILL PROBABLY DELIVER:br Here's the thing about AEW - the in-ring work almost always delivers. The matches will be good. Probably great, actually.br But "good matches" isn't enough for a PPV. You need:br ✅ Compelling storylinesbr ✅ Must-see momentsbr ✅ Anticipation and buzzbr ✅ Feeling like you CAN'T miss itbr Right now, Full Gear feels like "yeah, it'll be good" instead of "I NEED to watch this."br br WHAT'S MISSING:br The buzz.
