US Visa Shock Pushes Andhra Woman to Tragedy: Promising Doctor Dies by Suicide After Sudden Rejection

A 38-year-old woman doctor from Guntur, Kaku Rohini, died by suicide in Hyderabad after her US visa upgrade was rejected. Rohini, who completed her MBBS in Kyrgyzstan, had moved to the United States three years ago on an H-1B visa.br br She had been preparing for a job at a reputed hospital and had cleared all three required exams with good scores. She also completed observership three times and was selected for a residency programme.br br However, after returning to India in May to meet her family, she applied to upgrade her H-1B visa to a J-1 visa. During this period, the US government reportedly tightened visa regulations, leading to the rejection of her application.br br Deeply distressed, Rohini allegedly consumed sleeping pills and died by suicide at her residence in Hyderabad on the 22nd of this month.
