Amazon Launches $50 Billion Plan To Expand AI And High-Performance Computing Capacity For Federal Agencies

Amazon plans to invest up to $50 billion to expand AI and high-performance computing capacity for U.S. government customers, adding 1.3 gigawatts of new data-center infrastructure. The project will provide agencies access to AWS AI tools, Anthropic’s Claude, Nvidia chips, and Amazon’s Trainium. Amazon also raised its 2025 capex forecast as the AI infrastructure race accelerates.
