Russia conducts complex naval exercise with live-fire drills in the Indian Ocean

A detachment of ships from the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet carried out a large-scale naval exercise in the Indian Ocean, involving combat maneuvers, live artillery fire, and coordinated anti-submarine actions.br br The operation included the participation of the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, the corvette Gremyashchiy, and the tanker Boris Butoma, which provided logistical support throughout the mission.br br During the training, the crews performed tactical maneuvers aimed at neutralizing simulated enemy surface vessels. To achieve this, they conducted artillery live-fire drills using A-190 and AK-630M systems against maritime targets in a scenario that simulated direct confrontation.br br In another stage of the exercise, the crews of the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate and the Gremyashchiy corvette carried out a coordinated search for a simulated enemy submarine. After detecting the submerged target, the units practiced pursuit tactics designed to force the submarine to surface.br br The teams also trained to counter attacks by unmanned boats and hostile drones, in addition to carrying out damage-control and onboard survivability procedures.br br The exercise reinforces the Pacific Fleet’s ability to operate in an integrated manner in complex, high-intensity scenarios, enhancing preparedness for defense missions and naval power projection in distant waters.br br Source and images: Telegram @modrussia.
