In this video, I'll show how to allow apps and programs through firewall on Windows, which in many cases involves adding a firewall exception on Windows, and also how to add a Windows security exclusion (Windows Defender exclusion, or Windows Defender exception), which is sometimes also required to run executables or other programs that may be blocked at the same time by both the Windows firewall and the Windows security. Adding an exception to Windows Firewall is important for playing some video games, and even some trustworthy software sometimes are not recognized as trustworthy by Windows. br br There are two parts to this video, and both parts should be followed in order to ensure the exception. Click on the Windows icon br 2. Write: "Firewall" br 3. Click on "Firewall & network protection" (the exact name may change depending on the Windows version) br 4. Click on "Allow an app through firewall" br 5. Click on "Change settings" (requires admin permissions) br 6. Click on "Allow another app" br 7. Click "Seach" br 8. Find the app, program or video game you want to add as a firewall exception br 9. Click "Open" - Now the app will appear in the firewall exception list br 10. Click "OK" (also important) br br PART II - How to Allow Apps through Windows Defender Security br br 1. Click on the Windows icon br 2. Write "Windows security" or "Windows defender" br 3. Click on "Windows Security" (the exact name may change depending on the Windows version) br 4. Click on "Virus & threat protection" br 5. In "Virus & threat protection settings", click "Manage settings" br 6. Scroll all the way down br 7. In "Exclusions", click on "Add or remove exclusions" br 8. Click on "Add an exclusion" br 9. Click "File" or "Folder" depending on the category you want to add br br Only add exceptions and exclusions for apps and programs that you really trust.
