AOTR URGENT ALERT: Ceasefire Violation — Fadi Assi & Jumaabr br We stand with families, advocates, and community protectors calling for immediate accountability in the killing of two Palestinian children, eight‑year‑old Fadi Assi and his ten‑year‑old brother Jumaa, who were shot dead by Israeli forces in northern Gaza.br br On Monday, the Israeli army admitted that troops from the Carmeli Brigade opened fire on the boys in separate incidents, claiming they posed “an immediate threat” after crossing into an area under Israeli control according to the ceasefire agreement. This justification echoes a pattern of repeated breaches of ceasefire terms.br br The ceasefire, in effect since October 10, 2025, was meant to halt violence and protect civilians. Yet Israeli military assessments now confirm that Israel controls more than half of Gaza’s territory under the first phase of the deal. Earlier that same day, another Palestinian was killed by fire from an Israeli Quadcopter drone east of Gaza City, outside the designated withdrawal zone.br br Human rights organizations and Palestinian groups have documented dozens of ceasefire violations, resulting in the deaths and injuries of hundreds of civilians, including children and women.
