Hamilton Streetcar — Hamilton Streetcar 1969 (USA, Garage, Psychedelic Rock)

Hamilton Streetcar — Hamilton Streetcar 1969 (USA, Garage, Psychedelic Rock)br br The only album by a band from Los Angeles, California. The core group formed in 1963-64 (Tom Fannon, John Burge, Ralph Plummer) and performed under the names "The Regents" and "The Chosen Few." Fannon said they learned to play instruments at a music store, where they were taught by a young salesman, Spenser Dryden, who later became famous with Jefferson Airplane. In 1966, they met Forrest Hamilton (son of the famous jazz drummer Chico Hamilton), who became their manager. In honor of this meeting, they changed their name first to "Hamilton Omnibus" and then to "Hamilton Streetcar." The band performed at a festival in Sacramento with Jefferson Airplane, Spirit, Strawberry Alarm Clock, and The Hour Glass (later to become The Allman Brothers). The band played a lot in clubs and enjoyed a certain popularity. Their repertoire included about 50 original songs, mostly written by Ralph Plummer. They released two singles, one of which charted. But, as guitarist Fannon recalls, when the band signed a contract with DOT Records, the project's producer, Richard Delvy (former drummer for The Challengers), didn't like them at all. Using his authority, he completely reworked the album, leaving only one original song, "Silver Wings." The rest were covers or songs by musicians hired by the local band Appletree Theater, which Delvy produced. According to the band members, the songs are less than 50 percent from the real "Hamilton Streetcar." The album failed to achieve commercial success, and the band broke up.br br Tracks:br br 01.
