Russia receives new Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters for operations in the Far North and Far East

br br December 9, 2025 – The Russian Helicopters holding has announced the delivery of three new Mi-8MTV-1 helicopters to GTLK, produced by the Kazan Helicopter Plant.br br The aircraft will be deployed to the Magadan and Amur regions, strengthening transport missions, rescue operations, wildfire response, and support for remote communities.br br The delivery is part of a national helicopter fleet renewal program, implemented by GTLK using resources from the National Welfare Fund (NWF) with support from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.br br The Mi-8, whose original design was developed by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant in the 1960s, has become one of the most widely produced and versatile helicopters in aviation history.br br The platform has evolved continuously over the decades, giving rise to modern variants such as the Mi-8MTV-1, widely used in civilian and military operations in regions with harsh and extreme climates.
