Jericho – Jericho 1972 (Israel, Heavy Progressive Rock)

Jericho – Jericho 1972 (Israel, Heavy Progressive Rock)br br The Anglo-Israeli band Jericho Jones had secured a two-album deal with A&M. For the second, they decided to shorten their name to Jericho. The sound followed the same lines as "Junkies, Monkeys & Donkeys", hard-rock and heavy-psych.br They continued to tour extensively and open for more famous bands such as Geordie, but the following year the band disbanded.br Led Zeppelin's manager had reportedly shown interest in her, but this did not materialize due to legal issues.br br The second and, sadly, final album by this Israeli band. It was recorded in the same studio with the same producer and the same lineup. But to say that “Jericho” is simply a good continuation of the same old story is an understatement. A phenomenal album! The guys recorded music of astonishing beauty, complexity, and diversity, inspired by the best of British music at the time. But the band broke up in 1973. Michael Gabriellov subsequently had a fairly successful solo career. Danny Shoshan followed suit (but not as successfully). Haim Romano became a professional session musician, while Robb Huxley and Ami Triebich retired from music (the former settled somewhere in America, and the latter opened a butcher shop in Tel Aviv).br br Tracks:br br 01.
