யாம்ஓதிய கல்வியும் எம் அறிவும்br தாமேபெற வேலவர் தந்ததனால்br பூமேல் மயல்போய் அறம் மெய்ப்புணர்வீர்br நாமேல் நடவீர் நடவீர் இனியே!br br கற்று அறியும் கல்வியும் பெற்றுள்ள அறிவும் வேலாயுதப் பெருமானே நமக்கு அருளியுள்ள காரணத்தால், (உலகத்தோரே!) இந்நிலவுலகில் உள்ள அளவு ஆசையால் விளையும் மயக்கத்தை நீக்கி, அறச்செயல்களையும் உண்மையையும் கடைப்பிடித்து அறநெறியில் சென்றுசேர்வீர்களாக; மேலும் திருமுருகப்பெருமான் அருட்கொடையாக அளித்த நாவைக் கொண்டு அப்பரம்பொருளின் புகழை ஓதிக்கொண்டிருப்பீர்களாக!br br yAm Odhiya kalviyum em aRivumbr thAmEpeRa vElavar thandhadhanAlbr pUmEl mayalpOi aRam meippuNarveerbr nAmEl nadaveer nadaveer iniyE!br br Because it is Lord Thirumurugapperumaan, who is holding the weapon of lance, and who has graciously granted us the boon of knowledge and wisdom, (O, people of the world!) as long as you are in this earthly world, you should get rid of the illusion arising from desire, and join the path of righteousness by carrying out righteous deeds and truthfulness.
